The UK International Search and Rescue Team (UKISAR) has made headline news this year following deployment after devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Morocco.
This event will bring together two key figures in the organisation – the lead co-ordinator, Nick Searle, National Fire Chiefs Council Strategic Lead for UKISAR and David O’Neill, Assistant Commissioner, Special Projects, London Fire Brigade, (RMA Vice-Chairman), who led the deployment to the recent incident in Turkey.
Together they will outline how ISAR is organised in the UK, the training and equipment available, the logistics of deploying to actual incidents and its future. There will also be descriptions of search and rescue incidents from those who were actively engaged in them. Time will be available for Q&A.
This is an event to inform our colleagues in the Fire & Rescue Services and those in the Fire Sector Industry helping to enable our Search & Rescue teams. It will also give participants an opportunity to network in the iconic surroundings of Lloyd’s of London during the post-session reception.
The event will be chaired by Peter Holland, the Chief Inspector for the Crown Premises Fire Safety Inspectorate in the Home Office.
The Worshipful Company of Firefighters is delighted to be joined by the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) in the organisation of this event; CPD points will be available from the IFE.
